Pros

Very exciting work, technologically challenging, good training program. Above average benefits. Salary is good for most areas in the country, but not the West, where the cost of life is much higher.

Cons

I was most excited when I've started to work at UP, and really thought I could make it a career, but ended up being furloughed 2 years later in a very disrespectful way. It was a disgrace, they sent us home in the same day without warning. Recently I got called and offered my position back, but have moved on with my career and declined the offer.

Pros

It is difficult to find many positive thing to say; decent pay, some decent employees, good safety, some decent work conditions, some decent shifts,

Cons

NO sick days, little vacation. ALL benefits come directly out of your salary. Zero tolerance for honest mistakes. If you are not interested in marrying to company, or joining the company church, probably not a good career choice.

Pros

Decent pay and Health Benefits

Cons

Terrible management, Working conditions, Schedule, Union leadership, and Culture. Not long after I got hired, I realized how much of a joke this place was....needless to say, I took the first train out of there lol.
