Pros

The hub that I worked at had the best people. My coworkers were amazing. The scenery was beautiful where I was in Colorado. Because of the consistent pay, it was somewhat affordable for a single person in Colorado to manage.

Cons

The disconnect between management and Boots on the ground was disheartening. The fact that they get a reward when they find a way to punish us creates somewhat of a frictional setting to work together to get jobs done. The fact that once you maxed out your pay at 10,000 gross per month, you could never go any higher. There was never any bonus or incentive. After five years, the job becomes stagnant and repetitive.. and after 10 your vested in your Railroad retirement, you’re basically trapped.
