Pros

Decent pay and benefits and life-long pension if you can survive for 5 years plus. Training though sometimes they overdo it.

Cons

As a young mother the lack of any sort of flexibility like work from home when child falls sick or on snow days or when child need to be taken to the doctor frustrates me. Too much politics and micro-management at the highest level.

Pros

Great benefits. Very adverse environment. Great pay. Challenging always changing with technology

Cons

Company has gone away from tradition of railroading. Corporate head quarters tends to run the railroad in front of a screen relying on numbers that are often tweaked due to the competitiveness between regions and the individual service units within those regions. In other words too many data driven and bean counters who lacks the rue railroad experience making decisions that they forget those that have had the experience and the culture coming form the ranks.
