Pros

- Good money when you take into account the amount of overtime you’re forced into and shift allowance. - All the maintenance techs and some of the production staff - those that have a high enough IQ to hold a conversation - are generally decent people.

Cons

- 3 Shift system, where overtime is expected every day shift weekend, then an additional Friday night shift. - Very little amount of planned maintenance activities. - Little to no training opportunities. - Lack of progression oppurtunities in maintance/engineering department.

Pros

Good training scheme. Guaranteed work. Excellent wages. Do as much overtime as you like. Easy work without having to think. Best place to be if you have no qualifications and want easy work. Opportunity for contract offer after 1 year as long as you don't have 1 day off, if you have 1 or 2 days off in that year, you will have to wait another year to be offered a contract. Anyone who tells you 6 months is lying or has a good relationship with management.

Cons

Male dominated environment. Many guys there who think they are hard and better than others. Guys who wear the blue Unipres shirts on contract think they are definitely better than everyone else. On your feet for whole shift. 15 min break and 25 min lunch. You're doing the same thing over and over again so if you like using your brain to do something, don't come here or else you will feel like you're wasting your life away. Can't really talk to anyone as it's so loud and everyone works at their own cells. You will hate your life and become depressed very very easily. You will not be able to socialise after coming home as you will just want to rest. You will NOT make any friends. The work is relentless.
