Comfortable Environment, Lacks Diversity in Management

Pros

United American is a company you can fall in love with. Your coworkers provide a supportive environment, are professional and committed.

Cons

The company lacks diversity in middle and upper management. There are a "few" minorities, but the numbers are severely depressed. Many minorities don't see a path to achieving vertical growth and often those opportunities seem to prefer external candidates as opposed to internal candidates.

Don't pay enough as well as the environment is so unprofessional. Supervisor lack knowledge of actual insurance company. Also lack of empathy for customers

Pros

There are many entry level positions available. Be warned though, the vast majority of entry level positions stay as entry level no matter how long you've been there. There are certainly exceptions, but they are rare and they happen because a senior member of the company retired.

Cons

People get very little done in a given day. It is not uncommon to see people waste 20-30 hours of their workweek talking about what it would be like if you had kittens for feet. Turn over can be a bit harsh and wages well below industry averages. There average employee there either hasn't been there for a year, or has been there for 18 years and is near retirement.
