Pros

40 hour weeks is the norm rather than the exception. Dedicated manager towards training new engineers and advising them on their designs. Director of Engineering services has a vision, hes vocal about it, and its inspiring to a degree. Based on my experiences they are the most ethical engineering firm in this field. I've seen the competitors designs and frankly - it scares me what they get away with.

Cons

This is an equipment rental company. Engineering is a complementry service towards selling equipment, not a true engineering consulting firm. Lack of transparency from leadership. Poor accountability on Sales Reps for failure to obtain information that often has make it or break it impacts on the design process. Keeps incompetent employees on the payroll. Keeps at least 1 verbally abusive employee on the payroll. Lack of standardized design guides in this field - prepare to have your designs challenged by review agencies. There are questionable industry wide standards. There is frequent disconnects between sales, engineering, and drafting. Modeling software has some flaws that are sometimes questioned by outside reviewers. Especially Union Pacific Railways.
