Pros

Great atmosphere. Good people, great cause. Overall supportive team. Great benefits and compensation. Working at United Way strengths your resume within the non profit sector. Excellent competent team.

Cons

There are jaded people that just send some negativity around. Not terrible but annoying. It's a bit top down on management structure. Can be very stressful during busy time.

Pros

I work for 211 and my supervisors and managers are very understanding and friendly. They are more than willing to work with employees dealing with family situations.

Cons

High Stress work since I handle calls from crisis, suicide, and financially distressed clients. However, if ever you feel stressed they are always encouraging employees to take a moment for themselves.
