Pros
The organization is full of people who really care about helping others, including many people who have "been there" and really understand how hard it is to get by in our country. They are well funded and with a great reputation, which allows for a more relaxed work environment compared to a small non-profit and opportunity to experiment with new solutions for helping others.
Cons
It is hard to get much done when fundraising seasons come around because upper management gets distracted and unavailable to direct projects. I would struggle with the decision if offered a management position because I'd need to spend less time on the real work and more time fundraising and doing PR.
