Some Praise, Some Improvement

Pros

Larger companies typically mean more growth opportunities. There a plenty of opportunites here. Local leadership, from my recent experience, is supportive and very encouraging about advancing. UHC is a leader in change within the health care industry, and it is very well communicated and displayed.

Cons

The health benefits, by far, are the worst I've ever dealt with. Paying high premiums, as it is, on top of high out-of-pocket expense at the doctor's office or hospital, is very frustrating and burdensome. It's more like having a discount program rather than having a majority of the expenses covered by the insurance company, and UHC employees are insured by UHC.

Pros

Work Life Balance Good benefits

Cons

Ingenix Middle Management has no clue of what is happening in the company. There are too many management layers. There is no basis for promotions, certainly not based on talent. Company offers no training.

Pros

They don't ask too many questions and don't bother you as long as you are employed and make money for them. You don't have to remember their names and they never make mistakes on your paychecks, which is a good thing...

Cons

They pay no bonuses now and try to renew your contracts without reviewing your pay-rate. They never do anything for you other than take chunk of your paycheck. You will only hear from them when they need you to sign something. Their Health Insurance plans come form their masters at United HealthScare and represent the worst Health Insurance plan I have ever seen. It is basically amounts to a Medical discount card ,as you would be paying pretty much everything out of your pocket. They will find your resume online and present it to their clients as if they know who you are. Basically throwing it against the wall and see if it sticks.
