Pros

Challenging projects with good management involvement. Flexible when needed for work life balance.

Cons

Closing Redmond office, so most Project Management jobs are now in Chicago.

Pros

Pay was decent for position Commute was 6 minutes

Cons

Office was very old. Water sports on ceiling, mice problem, bug problem. General upkeep of the building was lacking. Management were outside hires and didn’t know how to do the job that there employees did so asking questions was pointless. Not sure why they hired from the outside when they have employees who have 20+ years of exp (csr leads) who I asked all my questions to. Training during my first couple months was awful, managers were zero help and told me to refer to the binder I was given. The binder was awful as well as it just took you through examples on how to do things in the system and didn’t say whether what you were doing was right or wrong. I stopped looking at the book after the first week and had other co-workers train me. There new hire training in general needs a major overall for thus position. Departmental cohesiveness. As a csr you would work with sales, buyers, planners, billing, credit, etc...! Unfortunately each department works against each other to hit there numbers they are assigned. I would have to bend over backward between departments to put in one order because each department has there own agenda when it comes to hitting there numbers and would effect the customer getting material. This has been a problem since before I worked here as I brought it up multiple times during my tenure but it seems this is the way it will stay as nothing was ever done about it. Company only cares about making money. I was supposed to be a temp for 100 days. I started in August and wasn’t hired until mid March because of a “hiring freeze”. I will let you do the math as to why they went on a hiring freeze. There were many other examples of this that I am not allowed to mention but just note to this company you are a number more than an employee. Company put in a time clock system that is ridiculous. I never had a problem with it as I am very punctual but the fact is that the system would punish you if you clocked in a minute after 8am and if you didn’t clock out right at 5pm. Which says a lot how the company views its employees. IT systems. Let me preface this by saying they are moving to a brand new building so this could be a moot point. The printers, scanners, etc... were extremely outdated and always breaking/need maintenance. There was no IT pro on site, and many times when you called to have them fix something they didn’t know what you were talking about or would fix it then it would happen again a day later. I being somewhat fluent in the IT world turned into IT pro on-site as it was easier for me to fix it then deal with IT.
