      Where IT Careers go to Die

      Pays More than the job function is worth.

      Cons

      No planning, lack of leadership at all levels of IT management. Completely unprepared for publi offerings. The entire IT department is driven by the PMO and lacks vision of where they are going, instead admittedly trying to survive from quarter to quarter. Directors have no respect for talents of FTE employees and use contractors as commodities dismissing with zero notice.

      401k that's it! I'm happy I got let go after 20 yrs so I don't have to deal with univar.

      Everything, I have nothing nice to say about my 20 yrs at univar! Everyone that I worked with hated univar.

      Most employees work hard and are great people. Good benefits.

      Cons

      Wonder why sales and customer service teams are failing? Answer: Terrible managers that are promoted based on who they know not what they know. 6 out of 8 managers I work with where handed their positions. One manager fills positions with people that won't outshine her and people wonder why her departments are failing. The best employees are leaving in droves because of horrible leadership, promotions based favoritism, and because Univar does not value its employees, no matter how many pins and signs they put up. I couldn’t have said it better: Back stabbing, egos, temper tantrums, high turnover, and turf protection are a huge problem.
