Pros

Good base for grandfathered reps, new reps paid less, 401K, company car, like the warehouse I work out of, prior to 2016 GREAT job.

Cons

New Management is pushing customers out and giving them to the competition due to the arrogance that they think Univar is. They want the perfect customer that doesn't exist and as an account manager you have NO control. A monkey could do our job at this point. An account managers role currently is to filter all the complaints and explain price increases and freight increases. Have to get approval to try and run your territory like a true business manager. It is very frustrating and mind blowing at this point. Not recommended!

Pros

Do not believe any review that is ranked above 1 star. It is likely made up by someone in Univar HR.

Cons

Save yourself. Do not accept a job at Univar. It is an absolutely disorganized mess. They are on the brink of financial disaster and the IT systems are also a disaster. Look at the stock price! Back stabbing, egos, temper tantrums, high turnover, turf protection, etc. Rampant at Univar. Most of the quality people that worked there are gone and immensely more happy. If you do interview ask them about the bonus. If they say you're going to get one they are lying. Ask about the IT systems. Ask how they are functioning and if any implementations failed. Ask about the turnover. Ask them though questions and see what they say.

Pros

I wish I could state pros. No amount of pay is worth this

Cons

We were lied to by management at interview was told no micromanagement, trying to build an employee driven culture with flexible work schedules work from home etc. this is so not true quite the opposite. Managers are constantly walking by to ensure you are working while they goof off. The work load and goals are completely unattainable. Managers are reactive as opposed to proactive. We are constantly putting out fires. There is no work life balance. No positive feed back. Only negative brow beating. Hey management that’s not how you motivate a worker. It creates the opposite effect. You are running out your good employees. But then again I don’t think you care.
