Pros

Good work/life balance. You get an office.

Cons

Extremely boring and disorganized. Spent many days and even weeks with absolutely nothing to do. Cliquish people and poor communication from management. Very opaque about company finances. You have no idea if the company is on the point of failure or is doing great. Pay is low.

Pros

Primary Pro is that Work Life Balance falls in favor of life. Vacation time & Sick time are easy to get and use. Office are generally good. Pay is good and benefits are okay but no benefit nothing stands out.

Cons

Future is hard to predict here from one year to the next. Company is owned by a wealthy European and is their personal passion but getting close to retirement. What happens next ? If sales are low one year, might have layoffs. Never clear who is leading and who is following ? Information only flows down and rarely laterally. Things move very slow and in an almost chaotic manner. Each Dept has a lot of independence so working together is negotiable. Redmond Facility has more products and seems more cohesive. Very dependent on legacy people who are always right.

Pros

Nice facility. Nice snacks if you are an executive. These people don't work very hard, but they still pay well, especially if you're an engineer, so nice work life balance. This is a nice place to be if you don't strive for excellence.

Cons

Absence of brain trust. The old man had one good product developed and the company has lived off it ever since without really ever developing anything new that was equally groundbreaking. Engineers hold the place hostage with taking in high salaries but taking 6 to 8 years to develop products that in the end just don't cut it. Work life balance is terrific, as there is a mass exodous from the building at 5pm every day, including executives. There is no striving for excellence here, just average people doing an almost adequate job.
