Pros

They work with some really intersting technologies here and the employees tend to be really hard work and smart. Medical benefits are very inexpensive.

Cons

There is a serious micromanagement problem here. They want talented, senior employees, but they treat them like newbies. This is a problem across the board in software/innovations. The VP who runs the group is so arrogant and he talks down to almost everyone on staff. He is universally reviled and people complain to HR, but everyone in a position of authority sort of just takes a "that's how he is" stance. The pay is well below industry standards and staff has really poor morale.

UEI has had steady growth over the last 15 years with good returns thus offering a stable work environment. Global experience, hands on, travel.

Cons

Sometimes work can be overwhelming. Many jobs have been transferred to China and India. Depending on where you live the traffic can cause long commute times.
