Pros

Benefits, Pay, Remote, No Weekends

Cons

If you don’t suck up to your supervisor or if your supervisor just don’t like you, you will not advance within the company. Must keep track of bathroom breaks.

Pros

Call centers are a good way to get into a company. Opportunity to advance outside the call center. Good Benefits. Remote work.

Cons

Corporate culture. Call centers are tough. But since I’ve been there they stopped all raises. They started 9 hour mondays and avoided overtime by having 7.45 hrs the rest of the week. They stopped paying for remote employees internet, requiring they pay for it themselves. Essentially a pay cut. The stopped investing in employees and started using overseas “ business partners” and closing departments and offices. They are absorbing colonial ins co and integrating products and departments leaving unreasonable responsibilities on call center agents. Your a jack of all trades but expert on none. Hundreds of poor workflows and systems that clock, time out and crash. It’s hard to help someone when your fighting your 50 GUI apps based on 80s tech. But if you can put up with all that it’s not bad.
