      Generous PTO. Good benefits. Modern campuses.

      Cons

      Work-life balance is a challenge (churn and burn); many employees are stretched too thinly. Diminishing institutional knowledge (half of all employees have 5 or fewer years of service; a majority have fewer than 10). Frequent re-orgs and shifts in operating models.

      Pros

      Unum is the first and only company Ive ever worked for that actually puts its money where its mouth is when it comes to chances to be promoted. A large emphasis is put on this, and for the most part if you show you are willing to work hard, have a good attitude and treat others with respect, the sky is the limit.

      Cons

      Becoming too political, and sometimes decisions are made that make no sense.
