Pros

One of the bigger employers in the area.

Cons

It is a big company, I'm sure parts of it are lovely. In IT the VPs take pride in making their peers look bad and explicitly stated "it is a zero sum game".

Pros

Unum has an amazing training program for their customer service representatives. They set you up for success from the moment you start your training. That being said it is a challenging job where you need to be driven by success. If you are not driven by success and challenging your self to be better, this may not be the position for you. Other reps are very friendly and willing to help out. The metrics are challenging but rewarding. They can earn you bonus's, promotions, and more!

Cons

Potential cons could be the metrics that they strive for customer service reps to meet. For me, the metrics have not been so hard. But for others they can be very difficult. Unum has a huge emphasis on accuracy. Which is not a con, but reps need to make sure they either know what they are saying before they say it, or reach out to a mentor.
