      Pros

      Unum is a bit of an old fashioned company, and that comes with some positive things. They treat their employees very well. They value loyalty, and their benefits reflect it, particularly their retirement benefits. If you're interested in a company where you can work for 10 - 20 years or more this is the company for you.

      Cons

      There's a flip side. As a direct result of their values, Unum has a dated IT staff, and a dated IT mindset. They struggle to organize in a way that can position them to keep up with the changing face of technology. I'll add, if you're looking for salary over total compensation you will find that Unum is not very competitive.

      Pros

      Competitive pay, 17 PTO days right at the start plus 8 paid holidays in the year with 3 floaring unpaid holidays, lots of room for growth, schedules have a nice range, they do a ton of work with the community outreach program, and your benefits start day one. That in and of itself is amazing.

      Cons

      The work is difficult. It's is demanding emotionally and mentally. But it can still be rewarding.
