      Pros

      Unum provides excellent benefits and the pay is decent. The company gym is nice and the company culture is wonderful on the surface.

      Cons

      Unum preaches work/life balance constantly but this concept is never effectively implemented. Overtime is mandatory and employees are encouraged to work on company holidays. If you choose not to work on a company holiday or decide to take PTO you are absolutely overwhelmed with your workload when you come back meaning you have to work twice as hard to catch your work list up. It often feels like taking a break is a punishment. At Unum you are constantly micromanaged and your performance will never be enough even if it is constantly improving. You have to remember you are simply a cog in a machine.
