Pros

Great experience... Great people work here .. generations of Asians support and call Uwajimaya family ... I feel it's because they know how good we have it compared other big companies... great diversity ... Great workplace feel as you get started ....🤔

Cons

Upper management is seems negative... Hours can be difficult, and vary week to week

Pros

-The hourly pay for a cashier position is awfully tempting as it is the same as Seattle's minimum wage - The customers are extremely patient and friendly. - It is great to work somewhere with items you can't find elsewhere!

Cons

- Managers call themselves "strict" but they aren't. What they are is extremely CRUEL and ABUSIVE. - Head manager will PHYSICALLY discipline you and disguise it as "joking", and something to "not take personal". Yeah isn't that ILLEGAL. - If any attempts are made on your part to adjust your schedule for any needs you have (like for trying to get healthcare, or balance school), they will BULLY you and tell you to "keep these personal matters OUTSIDE of work". - Management will BERATE their cashiers and head manager will tell you a lot of UNNECESSARY, and UNPROFESSIONAL comments like "if I knew (.....) I actually would have never hired you!" - Manager will always mock and say to "not take things personal" (after they treat you like GARBAGE) and to "keep personal stuff outside of work" but CONTRADICTS their mantra and NOT promote excellent, long term employees simply because THEY DO NOT "LIKE" THEM. - Management is POOR at running cashiering operations and so they dump ALL the heat on their employees and blame it on them. - OCD cashiering etiquette. As in you have to do extra steps that actually don't make a difference, but they come down on you if you don't. - Head manager is VINDICTIVE and SPITEFUL and the rest of the managers are extremely condescending!! They will not try to trust you or understand you! - Managers are also RUDE to CUSTOMERS! - Managers try to use control, FEAR, manipulation and threats to "get what they want" out of you. - I have had coworkers CRY their eyes out from how mean management is.
