Thank you so much for this amazing feedback! We’re thrilled you’re feeling the power of great people, meaningful work, and the kind of benefits that help support you while you do it all. It means a lot coming from someone who’s been on the rocketship for years. Thanks for helping make VEG what it is—and for bringing the CEC magic every day. #lifeatVEG

Pros

Paid CE and travel. Many opportunities for growth. CEO is a great guy and wants the best for all of his hospitals personally told our team that if any of his hospitals are not following the VEG way and are becoming a toxic work environment to personally reach out to him.

Cons

No annual raises. Raises occur when leveling up in nursing skills.

Thank you for your feedback—and for being on this rocketship with us for so many years! We’re so glad to hear you’ve felt supported in your growth and CE opportunities, and that your experience with leadership has been so positive. That means a lot. We want every VEGgie to feel valued and fairly compensated. To that end, we look at our compensation program annually to ensure we’re equitable to employees and competitive within our market, and offer pay transparency as much as possible—even if not required by the state. We also conduct market studies to ensure our benefits are in line or better than the industry. We’re so glad you feel supported by your manager, and would highly encourage you to have a conversation with them to express this feedback further so it can be part of ongoing discussions around compensation. Thanks again for all you do to help people and their pets.

Pros

3 12 hour shifts 2500$ CE accommodations allowance, unlimited CE allowance Very LGBTQ friendly Break room filled with snacks (wasn’t always the case, for whatever reason management punished us by taking away snacks/not restocking them for extended times at one point?) Prioritizing positivity, can absolutely come off as toxic positivity sometimes New tools, price isn’t an object when it comes to staying up to date Open floor plan, stay with your pet at all times See a doctor in 60 seconds (this doesn’t always happen but mostly does) Great benefits, 200$ uniform stipend and $200 VEG Store for swag Many LVTs on shift Cubex drug management system Finger on the pulse with drug inventory Many learning opportunities Rapid expansion Corporate hospitals that run like private practice individually, benefits of corporate without rigidity Leadership tries to be as neutral as possible

Cons

Does not employ experienced doctors Medical negligence run rampant, high surgical complication and mortality rate Pushing $1500 worth of bloodwork on every single case regardless of what it comes in for Inaction from leadership Only when staff quits does management take action on persistent problems - seems like they want to see how long people will hold out, or they don’t care that their team is suffering? Encouraged talking behind peoples backs with their lack of decisive action/discipline, despite VEG’s “armadillo” thing (you’re supposed to say armadillo when you hear gossiping or negativity) Expectation for staff from leadership to be up to date and informed via Meta product Workplace Chat even tho they frequently do not communicate with each other Meddl test taken instead of working interview to determine pay (technical skills don’t matter, it only matters how you test and retain book knowledge) Low average pay Slow to accrue PTO No talks of raises in 1.5 years

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to hear you’ve found value in many aspects of the VEG experience—from our CE support and benefits to the inclusive culture and learning opportunities. It’s great to know those parts of VEG have made a positive impact. At the same time, we're really sorry to hear that parts of your experience haven’t reflected the environment we aim to create. Your feedback is important, and it helps us understand where we may be falling short and where we need to do better. We’d highly encourage you to share more—either anonymously through All Voices or directly with your people partner—so we can better understand your concerns and work toward addressing them. Thank you again for everything you do to support people and their pets.
