Carbon Black was acquired by VMware. At Carbon Black we had a fantastic culture - open communication, transparent leadership, high engagement. Within one year of VMware's acquisition, they replaced Carbon Black VP's with their own and killed the positive culture. VMware set unrealistic goals and when they weren't met the answer was to re-organize, and the re-organize again.

Within the team I was on; -Productivity assessment software that looked for no movement or actions on your work machine within an unknown timeframe. This occurred despite being in a role that did not fit a specific daily work schedule. (It appeared to be related to a distrust of remote people) - Management was not effective in communication. There seemed to be more of a focus on appearing to "care" versus actually tackling tough issues and difficult tasks. Meetings and collaboration efforts seemed more like a show versus a real effort. The management team that I worked with just seemed very inexperienced, but they were good at making and reading presentations. - Salary was below market rate
