Pros

Great training programs for new hires. Great learning experience working with the leading virtualization technologies and everything that is related - enterprise storage and networking environments and systems management.

Cons

Technical support engineers are now paid hourly rates and do not have any performance-related bonuses. The message from this change is clear - the company does not care about you, you are easily replaceable.

Innovation, energy and excitement about building revolutionary products. In a few short years, VMware has completely changed the way the industry thinks about building their products, as well as how the enterprise thinks about their technology needs. It's exciting to be a part of a place that is so revolutionary. Also, beautiful campuses (Palo Alto, Cambridge and Austin), and fun work environment.

Cons

Some processes need to be changed- VMware needs to catch up to our rapid growth, but still be nimble enough to stay innovative.

great bunch of people to work with. cutting edge technology. Opportunity to learn lots of exciting stuff. Decent salaries but not structured very well. stock option/RSU a added incentive

Cons

Immature managers still learning the tricks of the trade meant chaotic processes and haphazard task allocations. No transparency from the senior management. Bad product planning.
