Pros
Vmware has the most interesting technology of the decade. You will really feel you are the cause for a revolution in computer industry. The company has some of the greatest engineers in the industry. You are surrounded by people who have around 10 patents just on their name and many more as a group. The technical discussions are really evolved and interesting and a great place to learn.
Cons
Though VMware has great technology, the problem is there is a great divide between the "Gurus" and non-Gurus. There is no process at all in this company. No documentation of any form, what ever is there is useless. QA folks have to imagine stuff they are testing and this leads to a lot of time wastage and mis-understanding, mis-communication etc. There is a big ego for the "Gurus" that they are the only ones that are required to run the company.
