Pros
Great culture, good work life balance, positive messaging from leadership, from what I've heard similar culture-wise to Google. I have never worked at a company with such a positive and open culture as VMware before, and they deserve kudos for that.
Cons
Great company that promises the world but in the end mostly you are competing with India teams who seem to hold all the power when it comes to decision making. It is hard working with teams in 10 different time zones. Some politics. Some people who spend entire meetings musing about irrelevant subjects and we are not allowed to question their decisions. Hard to take a project and show initiative if there are so many gate keepers and stonewalling from other teams for projects.
