Pros

Some opportunities for advancement if you have the right "attitude.". Salary is adequate. Some managers/employees are great to work with.

Cons

Military environment. Upper managers believe they are still in the military and can treat veterans as if they were still in the military, demeaning and lack of civilian workforce etiquette. Since Mo has become CEO the company is going downhill fast. The Board may see some profit but the company continues to lose work with companies it once had longstanding relationships with. Once promised employees their jobs were secure, then let go of several to save company profit margin. Several seasoned and experienced employees have made a mass exodus for fear of becoming unemployed. I once believed that I would retire from this company but now I am sure I will not.

Pros

The people that actually do the work, in the line of fire, work hard and are dedicated. There are a lot of good folks, and experience. The company has gone out of its way to hire veterans also, and people with advanced degrees. Middle management and supervisors are hard working. Lots of friendly people.

Cons

They don't pay well, though they talk like they do. They expect you to work hard, but they cut your "hours" and expect you to take vacation for hours you don't work, even though you are salary. They also talk alot about being an employer of choice, but haven't got a clue how to do that except give out free barbeques and tickets to minor league baseball games. Upper level executives are snobs and don't know anything about what the real work takes to get done.

Pros

None, from the moment you interview they make it seen as of VSE is the perfect company. Don’t be fooled. They are too busy trying to monopolize the industry by acquiring companies left and right.

Cons

Management has no idea what they are doing. Everyone is focused on themselves rather than their team. If you’re not kissing butt than you’re not in the click. They treat good employees as if they’re disposable and fire them out of nowhere. Managers don’t know how to delegate or help employees grow.
