Hidden Truths....'Fail' Resorts

Pros

Many of the employees are good hearted people

Cons

Senior Management and C-Level Management have way too many hidden agendas which can be shared to line level employees. The Senior Management Retreat is based on a show to support Rob Katt and C-Level management’s ego. It’s very sad. There’s a future there but only if you ‘Drink the Kool-Aid’. The discussion and the marketing of Culture & Values are all a green wash for the community. It’s about their own personal agenda and stability, and not the community or employees. There are way too many hidden truths. I sat in all those Senior Meetings and it sickens me greatly.

Pros

Free lift pass and some cool Co workers

Cons

Under paid work, poor management, no lunch breaks I never been treated so unfairly and let go after all the hard work I put into their department. For all the information I managed, my job could have easily been paid 15 an hour.... But because so many people are willing to work there for the free lift pass, everyone is expendable to them. They will work you like a dog and spit you out.

Pros

If you love skiing and a free epic pass, then working for Vail is great!

Cons

There are a lot of reasons you wouldn't want to work for Vail. First of all, wages are almost disrespectfully low for living in notoriously expensive ski towns. While lower level management will do everything to take care of you, Vail corporate is constantly clawing at their backs and it shows. Vail Resorts is all about making money. Don't let them fool you otherwise. Vail resorts makes it obvious that they see their lower level employees as easily expendable and don't show the slightest interest in employee retention. Don't expect to work for this company longer than a season.
