      I wouldn't work here again, but I guess it could always be worse.

      Pros

      You do get a free ski pass, which is pretty sweet. Some jobs have great schedules for taking advantage of the skiing that's so close.

      Cons

      Management is promoted based on who they like. Pay is horrible. Time off in the winter can be hard to get. There really is no acknowledgment of your work if the manager above you decides they don't really like you. It did start to get a bit better after they gave us a company wide survey and discovered many employees were unhappy.

      Pros

      Vail Resorts is truly filled with people who are passionate about the work they do and the locations where they do it. It is important to everyone that the mission statement is experienced by guests and employees alike (Experience of a lifetime). The overall culture is amazing - I have never worked with so many people who truly love what they do, will work hard to accomplish amazing results, enjoy the outdoors and be so proud of their company. There are more bright and energetic people throughout all areas of the company, working hard to accomplish innovative goals and it is truly a pleasure to be a part of that.

      Cons

      While they strongly believe in promoting from within and growing the careers of those at Vail Resorts, they tend to pay the person and not the position. People who work their way up through the company find themselves in salary ranges well below competitive wages. It is a shame to lose so many talented people due to the fact that they can no longer ignore interesting offers at much higher salaries.
