Pros

To gain industry experience, and use them as a stepping stone to better opportunities.

Cons

Rob Katz and upper management are completely disconnected from the ski industry heartbeat. Vail Resorts is a publicly traded company, and is solely focused on driving shareholder revenue. The corporate philosophy of Vail Resorts does not value or reward employees fairly. Instead of using earned revenue to re-invest in it's employees, the money is sent directly to shareholders and upper management.
