Adjusted Progressiveness = Sustantial Growth
Pros
As a small to mid sized private company, the opportunity to work with high level executives in making decisions that impact the company directly from any level job is normal. The departments I work with are very close (sales and marekting). There have been ample opportunities to grow and learn in a number of areas that an otherwise large company could not provide. There have been significant improvements through the addition of new and creative staff and worldwide expansion via acquisitions. Ther are opportunities to work interntaionally everyday with offices and staff all over the world-- I get to work closely with them everyday. They changes the insurance program in the last two years-- much better. My husband and I could be on our own insurance plans via our jobs, but the family plan is so great it makes more sense (kids are included for nothing) to put us all on mine.
Cons
At first things seemed a little outdated (10 years ago) and change seemed diffiult to achieve, but I could see how much could be done. Thats the type of place i wanted to work. I didn't want everything to be so perfect starting out. The longer i stuck around the more i saw it was improving-- each year a little faster than the one before. New people were implemented to encourage a better culture. They just had to weed out the negative ones who didn't want to put in the extra work to see a significant improvement. It is those negative people that really made things tough sometimes. I try to ignore them-- I've found they exist at any company you work for. I call those people toxic-- they should be replaced.
