Pros

Great corporate campus w/ many employee perks such as a top notch gym, basketball & tennis courts, daycare, and events throughout the year. Challenging, fast paced work environment.

Cons

Silently forced into volunteering and giving part of your paycheck to United Way. I don't have a problem with volunteering, but the United Way contribution is just wrong. I don't think the top management team with their 6 or 7 figure salaries realize that many lower level employees are just scraping by and 1% (at the minimum) of their salary can often be a very painful chunk of money to be without.

Pros

If I dId not have to cover this space for the word limit, I would have left this completely EMPTY

Cons

Its 2021 and they operate in stone age. Old fashioned is an understatement. Stuck up management who thinks people die to work for the company. Good luck filling those roles.

Inept & Indecisive leadership

Pros

Great benefits and competitive compensation to other oil & gas refineries.

Cons

Terrible leadership! The Memphis refinery management lacks field experience & ability to make tough business decisions. Mid level supervision & craftsmen are worked in circles due to the poor leadership. Work life balance is non existent. If you want to achieve success & promotion, you will be expected to work 7 days a week & long hours. Your family must come 2nd to the big V! Higher performers will be pushed to their breaking limits while low performers are allowed/accepted for poor performance. The only reward for being a high performer is the ability to do someone else’s job that does not meet expectations.
