Pros

As an employee at Valley Forge Fabrics, I've found several positive aspects of working here, but there are also some drawbacks to consider.

Cons

However, there are some challenges as well. One issue I've noticed is limited advancement opportunities, particularly in certain departments. While there are opportunities for growth, it can sometimes feel like progression is slow. Communication can also be a challenge at times, especially between departments or between management and employees. This can lead to misunderstandings and inefficiencies.

Thank you for your review. I hope you take the opportunity to talk with your department manager so that they are clear on your aspirations for growth. As you know we post open positions for our team to engage in our promotional process. We also work with our leadership team to develop career paths for our team but this is a dual responsibility between the individual and the manager. We promoted 13% of our workforce in 2023 and I look forward to similar results for 2024. Many of our leadership team have volunteered as mentors and I would be happy to meet with you and coordinate a mentor if that would be of interest in your development path. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Mikey

I am uncertain how long you have not been with VFF, but we have worked very hard over the past several months with a big focus on team leaders truly integrating with each other. I believe we have done very well in this regard. I am unsure what you mean by operational processes when you refer to those, as we have many in the department who work very well within our set parameters. I can say that lately, we have been working to drive more ownership and empowerment to the team members, and this has been working well. Thank you mikey

Pros

Benefits, 401 K Matching, nap room

Cons

No maternity leave, Leadership is so far removed from day to day there is a mass lack of support & micro-mismanaging. no annual raise or available incentives to grow within the company. no connectivity between departments. & lack or organization & standard operating procedures. When employees try to improve working conditions they are seen as the problems instead on the things they are trying to fix. Burn out is the common thread in this company. it is about the bottom line and not the employees.

You and I only got to know each other a little in your short time here. Your review is pretty strong, so I do feel I should address a few things. I appreciate you noting our employee benefits of 75% employer-paid health insurance, excellent 401(k) match, 10 paid holidays and up to 21 days PTO. It appears these did not meet your expectations but I do believe they are competitive in the marketplace. . Our Textile Design team is amazingly talented, energized and meeting high customer demands daily. We have very strong retention with this team. Our annual raises and bonuses are amongst the highest in the industry each year. The only reason you would not qualify for one is if you were not meeting performance expectations. We all have a role in that, and the team has huge opportunity with raises, bonuses, and professional growth. I would like to add, since you wrote "sinking ship" that 2023 was one of our strongest years, and I measure that in people, process, environment, and profit. We wish you all the best as you pursue your next professional experience. Mikey
