Pros

Remote work, looks good on a resume, some opportunities for promotion if you manage to avoid layoffs.

Cons

Writers and editors at Valnet make far less than the market rate and do not receive a 401k. Negotiating a raise is impossible without a promotion, and the company's bonuses are tied to an ever-changing set of arbitrary goalposts. Valnet is notorious for its sudden layoffs, so there is a deep sense of insecurity among employees who are involved in the content creation or editing process. As for the company's management--it is both bloated and inept.

- Work from home - Flexible schedule - Bonus pay for high-performing articles - Early access to upcoming movies and TV shows

Cons

- Communication is done almost entirely via Discord, which can lead to miscommunication between the various senior and junior editors - Training isn't robust. It amounts to a few modules and outdated emails - No benefits despite working full-time hours - Management doesn't honor their word.
