      Far from the best, Not the worst

      Pros

      There weren’t many positives to working for Maxar. But to name a few, there were some nice people there, there were some nice company get togethers, the work was occasionally interesting.

      Cons

      The downsides for working for Maxar were many. It was frustrating working for that company. Years of poor management depleted the talent pool and the company was held together by a shoe string of people that knew how to do the job. The company suffered financially because the super stars left and that created big holes. Imagine playing football with 7 people on your side of the field with a coach that talks good but had no tactics and that’s how it was like working at Maxar.

      Messy...

      - Reasonable work-like balance - Friendly coworkers

      Cons

      Directives change frequently as leadership and their priorities are in constant flux. At times, upper- and director-level management seem more focused on self-preservation and projecting authority than learning the company and providing clear and correct strategic direction. This leads to questionable decisions, confusion, inefficiency, poor morale, turnover, and the random layoff of experienced and capable engineers who truly want to show up for the company. I no longer enjoy working here.

      The work is good, BUT....

      Pros

      The work is engaging and meaningful. Most of your coworkers are great. Bennifits a pretty good.

      Cons

      Management is the problem. There are constant changes in direction and you shuffled from one priority to the next then back again. There are consistant layoffs.
