Pros

- Free lunch - Unlimited PTO - Extremely good stock options (changed this year) - Competitive pay - 2% of your income in education - Fitness reimbursement - Work/life balance - Can switch teams, products, or job titles at any time - Huge mix of junior, mid level, and senior engineers. - Engineers from atypical backgrounds (passionate / motivated). - Week break at the end of the year. - CEO / Upper management seem to know their stuff. For me personally on my team (might apply to others): - Insanely good manager, he purposely wants us to improve our skills for our future. - Manager will be the face of problems that you make. - Everyone on my team is extremely nice, talented, and fit together well. - Occasional events with the team. - Relaxed work sechedules ("9-5" but flexible). I'm curious if other reviews end up with bad teams.

Cons

- Learning all the tech, software, terminology, products is overwhelming initially. - The core software which creates nearly all products is an insanely huge code base. - Huge code base is annoying to develop in due to size, slowness, and VM that's required. - Software growing pains (see last two points). The company has grown very fast and still looks to add thousands of employees in the next few years. - Some teams aren't as friendly. - Some teams are overwhelmed (dev ops seem to need a lot more people). - Lunch is sometimes meh.

Pros

Very smart and capable engineering team, profitable SaaS product, and overall a "safe" work environment provided you do exactly as management tells you do. Development moves decently fast paced for an already large, mature product.

Cons

The biggest con is poor management. It was better when the company was smaller, but now there are way too many managers all trying to impress their respective managers rather than do their job. They've developed a toxic culture where they expect their employees to behave more like corporate slaves rather than free-thinkers. They have driven away a good number of excellent engineers/managers simply because they were too outspoken or disagreed with their processes. Management is always focused on customers and never on employee success. They would rather hire someone with questionable experience than to raise salary and promote from within. There is a power imbalance between product managers, DEVs and QAs resulting in a constant push for new features rather than fixing current issues. There is a big emphasis on speed rather than quality, resulting in legacy code being littered everywhere. Overall, this is not a company for ambitious people.

Pros

Healthy yummy lunches HQ is a nice place with pingpong/foosball and snacks If you land on the right team, the work can be really great; nobody on my team ever works weekend or late nights. I feel really fortunate to be on the team I am. 2% of Salary employee development match. Can be used on books/conferences/classes,etc...

Cons

If you land on the wrong team it seems it can be terrible. Late friday night releases, working weekends, etc... Unlimited PTO actually means 15 days. I don't really know anyone here who wishes we just didn't have normal vacation time, rather than this ambiguous policy. The message is b/c it's about getting your work done not time. But then managers are told to actually keep things around 15 days. Pay is average, could probably get better somewhere else in Silicon Valley Raises aren't negotiable 401k match is only $2,000 a year.
