Externally a gem, internally a mess

Pros

Great products, market leadership in the vertical, excellent comp. If you enjoy in-fighting, corporate politics, or generally thrive on chaos, this is the place for you.

Cons

The focus is on autonomous projects that lack a cohesive vision and strategy. Product teams constantly fighting for turf and approval from maniacal CEO that runs a top-down shop. Very political environment results. Sales treated like whipped donkeys. Commercial suite just about max'd out in the market.

Start-up started off great but now has growing pains and culture issues

Pros

- Flex work schedule with work from home options - Great branding, with a cult like attitude toward the color orange - In office perks are free tuesday lunch and a new building in the works - We finally have dental coverage

Cons

- No bonuses for non consultants. Stock options were relevant before the company went public but at this point the value of the shares hasn't gone up (rather down) in the past year. - No 401k matching - In office culture is dead. If you like working with a place where you consider it fun going into work with good friends, this is not the place. - Little to NO growth opportunities. They are more willing to hire a new manager with less experience than the team, rather than promote. - No programs for training or education reimbursement (beyond training of their own software) - No PTO is a blessing and a curse. You have to earn the right to take off, you don't own your vacation days so there is nothing owed to you. If you want to take an extended vacation you better work hard to earn that right. - Very sparse diversity especially at the executive level - Politics are starting to rear their ugly head - Cost cutting is starting to take form. Previous perks and events are starting to scale back. - Managers aren't trained to develop employees - Early employees are leaving. A bit disheartening to see lack of commitment to employee success

Going Down Hill

Pros

The managers that I know and work with are amazing! Genuinely care about their employees. Work from anywhere is also a great plus. Great stepping stone in working in tech. People here are really kind and genuine.

Cons

When I joined the company, I thought that there was going to be tons of growth in the positions, and so much to learn. Boyyyy was I wrong (unfortunately). There seems like there's only one way of thinking here, and if you think out of the box, you're in the wrong. There really is such a lack for advancement and learning/ development. I was really excited to join Veeva when I first started, and am now realizing this is an intro into the tech world and will soon be looking to seek employment at another company. This would be a good company for someone who thrives in an environment where you do your work and that's really it. I wouldn't recommend it for people who are looking to develop and grow.
