Pros

I worked at Veeva Systems for 3 years. Pros of working here sorted by most important to me: my coworkers were very sharp, the lunch meals were amazing and vegetarian friendly, the location was ideal (only 20 minute commute on the scenic 680)

Cons

The tech stack was "enterprisey" and a lot of the work was not that interesting. At least for the first 4 or so months while I was getting acquainted with the codebase. Things did get better as I begun to understand and appreciate the business logic but always, work was very demanding. Also, I felt I was slightly underpaid (then again, the stock did very well)

Pros

Company does a good job marketing itself, especially in the US. Considering what they do, cloud storage with some policy management, they show themselves as an advanced company. They are a glorified CRM for Pharma. Good place for sales people and strong car salesman culture even in tech.

Cons

Very deceiving tech interview as they position themselves as an advanced company but upon start, surprises will emerge. Canada is seen as a cheap labour, outsourcing office for the HQ and the tech leaders are very incompetent, many of them obsolete. Their website does not even mention Canada and its the last priority for the overall company. Tech Stack and engineering practices are outdated and serious security flaws in their design. Worrying handling of health data. If you want to experience “ The Office” culture in action, join this company. Not for engineers, good for sales.

Pros

-Flexible work hours -Great products that are making an impact in the Health Sciences world, especially in times like these -Tuesday lunch -Free snacks and beverages -Smart and considerate colleagues -Great office location, right next to King Station, and comfortable walking distance to Union -Veeva Generation (2 Year development program for new grads) -Line of job promotion if you work hard and are a great team player -Sizeable Yearly allowance on educational material like online courses, textbooks -Great amount of RSU's

Cons

-Workloads can fluctuate rapidly at times -Growing occurrence in recent years of specs changing last minute, growing lack of communication between management and employees -Workplace environment can vary between teams. Veeva Toronto has been expanding rapidly in recent years; the creation of new teams has resulted in many new office cultures, some of which have been negative. Generally the older teams like Veeva Network are known to have better workplace environments. -Tuesday Lunches have decreased in quality in recent years. -Majority of recent new hires seem to be only young professionals/new grads
