Pros

- Co-workers are awesome - Love the IT staff - Fun company outings

Cons

- In the yearish I've worked here I've watched it go from a company that really values work life balance (everyone was generally out the door at 5/5:30) to one that is heavily over loading it's resources and causing stress and panic in it's work force (1/2 the company seems to be here until 6 now and most people are putting in time every weekend). There's a reason all the 4/5 star reviews are from back in 2013 as that's where the change started I'd like to believe it's temporary but unless something changes pretty drastically they are going to start loosing people. - There are a couple of "golden children" here, some of whom are legitimately good at what they do and some of whom are only considered good cause they work insane hours. This is a problem as these people are the ones getting promoted and don't seem to understand that most people aren't willing to work 60+ hours a week and don't manage accordingly. -On the subject of management it's generally just terrible. They are starting to get a little bit better but there are still some major issues.

Pros

- Davis Square location. - Some very good people working there. - Pay is competitive. - If you are a talented developer you could be very happy here.

Cons

- Management is very focused on certain aspects of the company and neglects others. - Management thinks they are keeping employees happy with the company culture, but with no clear direction, talented employees get lost in the shuffle. - Company has had growing pains. - Reviews are conducted like a popularity contest. - Velir is not a digital agency, it is more of a web development company. - This is a dysfunctional place unless you are a talented developer. - Company can be very secretive. - You will not be successful here unless you are willing to put in very long hours. If you are unwilling to work 60-70 hours per week, you might want to decline that job offer.
