Great company to work for. The management has always been super supportive and genuinely cares about their employees. Its also a fun company to be a part of. Lots of praise in particular to my manager, Shani Nelson who is truly an asset to Venterra. She not only cares about her employees but has always been a great teacher. I have learned a lot from her.

I don't think there are any.

Great environment, but...

Pros

The pay is fairly competitive, they care about their residents, and it's a great work environment overall.

Cons

Not a lot of room to grow, everyone tends to fall into cliques (on-site and corporate) and they definitely have their favorites. Scorecards and surveys can be great, but they tend to be discouraging if you're not 100% perfect. Expect to submit a lot of "better ways" about things that should already be done. They have their own system, and it takes some getting used to if you've already been in the business.

While it’s great to know you’ve enjoyed the overall work environment and feel our compensation is competitive, our aim is for employees to have an amazing experience in all aspects of their career with Venterra, so I wanted to respond to your comments. We have opted to develop our own software as we believe it is important to have software that we can customize exactly for our own unique needs, especially in this increasingly technology centric world. This allows us to do a lot of cool things others can’t, but there will always be some areas that we are improving. Our Better Way program, as you mentioned, is very helpful in giving our employees a voice in directing our continuous improvement efforts and we appreciate you participating in this important program so that we can learn from your experiences at other companies. I was concerned to read your comments on growth opportunities and our promotion process. One of the things we pride ourselves in is promoting from within, and while there are some communities in our smaller regions that have less opportunity than those in our major centers, it is certainly our goal that we provide career opportunities and growth for all employees. In addition, we are committed to a promotion and rewards approach that is data driven and not politically driven. I would love an opportunity to better understand your thoughts in these two important areas. Venterra is a company that is built on a foundation of Core Values. Venterra cares about their employees, you definitely have a voice! There is a lot of room for growth, and they promote from within.
