Pros

Venterra strives to promote a culture that is fun, engaging, and makes you want to come to work. Everyone is really great at cheering each other on and supporting each other in times of need. Just seeing what Venterra did for its Houston employees impacted by Hurricane Harvey was moving. They raised $47,000 to give back to employees in need. I don't know of many companies that would make the effort to do this.

Cons

While Venterra thrives on its culture and has many great benefits in place, I feel that salaries are still below market value.

We aim to create an amazing employee experience, and filling our teams with individuals who care about and support one another is an important part of making that happen. Although we utilize industry benchmarking and regular pay evaluations with the goal of providing fair and competitive pay, there are still times when what we offer might not be in line with employee expectations, so we definitely encourage conversations on the topic with managers at any point. While quarterly evaluations are the norm for most of our positions, changes happen quickly in every role, so open dialogues and getting feedback in real-time is definitely important to making sure everyone stays on the same page. We can definitely take a closer look at the current evaluation structure for non-quarterly reviewed employees to make sure evaluation discussions are as relevant as possible, but we also want to make sure these on-the-spot manager/employee conversations are happening between formal reviews. If you feel like this is something that’s not happening as it should, please feel free to reach out to me directly to discuss in more detail. And, of course, if you have any other suggestions to help improve us as an organization, don't hesitate to speak up. Thanks again for sharing the review!

Great enviroment , fenomenal team , awesome community members , beautiful salary , school to grow up opportunities

Cons

All good in my property and my staff , a genuinely can not complain

While we like hosting onsite resident events regularly to have a little extra fun and to build bonds within our communities, there’s no set cap on the number that can be held, so if you have any specific ideas on events that might be a hit with your residents, please be sure to bring them up to your Community Manager. Pros

Coworkers are great, hours are decent, fun environment, a lot of bonuses, they care about they're employees', they offer constant training and employee discount. Love venterra!

Cons

You work on Sundays (rotate). Base salary could be higher.

Thanks for sharing your experiences on the team. I’m happy to hear that your time on the team has been as positive as it has! While setting office hours that balance employee and resident experience can be a challenge, we’ve found being opened for shortened hours on Sundays at most of our communities has allowed us to be accessible for residents and prospects who might not be able to make it in otherwise. Hopefully the addition of perks such as the volunteer day, birthdays off, and employee friendly holiday hours have helped mitigate this a bit. We also know pay plays a big factor in employee experience, and although we utilized industry benchmarks to offer fair and competitive salaries, we definitely encourage conversations on this topic with managers to make sure pay is a good match with individual employee responsibilities and qualifications, so please be sure to speak up if you feel we should look more closely at your specific circumstances.
