Pros

The people are great to work with. Interesting and varied work. Some very smart people willing to go the extra mile. Good (but getting dated) product that customers on the whole like. Home working culture.

Cons

Never worked for a company that is so mean and unwilling to spend money. Skinflint culture. Constantly told money is tight despite being highly profitable year on year. Workload can be extreme - I'd say I do the job of 2 people at any other company. Next to no investment in people, IT, service, in fact anything other than for top managers renumeration. Lots of talks about change - but it never happens, at least not for the good. Management more and more out of touch the more senior they get. Total focus on the numbers with no care for how they are achieved. Whatever the question the answer is always somebody lower in the organisation is not working hard enough.

Pros

The products are very good and there are some nice people to work with.

Cons

Management is creating Oracle Part 2. All of the A players are jumping ship because of sales management, horrible comp plan for 2013. They even told numerous salespeople who qualified for Club that they did not reserve enough seats for everyone to go. The least that they could have done was given the A Players a bonus or something. Nada. This was a great place to work up until about 2 years ago. Now, I wouldn't work there if they gave me a $200k base. Horrible RVP's. Cannot say enough bad things about what it is like now. Run away (like all of the A Players are)!!!!!

Pros

High starting salary, good benefits. Until recently considered a market leader. I worked for Verint Video Systems full time for five years. Over time, the company became more "process oriented" to the detriment of product quality and customer satisfaction. This is a division of the much larger Verint Systems that also has reviews on this site -- make sure you read them as well. For an inside industry perspective, read the information at ipvm.com on this company as well. If you choose to work for this company, negotiate the highest base salary you can, because it won't change much. Ignore the commission plan because it changes every year. Annual raises are small (2-3%) and arbitrary as yearly reviews are often not delivered until the following year is almost complete. They are quite good at making sure you sell more while making the same or less every year.

Cons

No upward mobility unless you speak Hebrew. Intense upper management pressure to meet numbers for the street and corners are cut. Technology has become dated before ever getting out of beta stage. Endless bug fixing and grand promises for improvement in the always disappointing "next version." Staffing when I left was a fraction of when I started, while sales targets continued to rise. Classic example of "whipping the mouse" management. Middle management won't provide advice or direction other than "do whatever it takes" or "trust your judgement" to get the sale. Then, if things go bad, it's all on you. Avoid verbal communication with management so you have everything in writing. Or, after a verbal meeting, write a summary email and send it somewhere so there is a record. Archive every single email from day one as you will need them when the blame bus is headed in your direction. Company is EXTREMELY aggressive in enforcing noncompete agreements. Get an attorney -- it's all smoke and they never follow through.
