Some good things and some bad

Pros

Excellent Benefits Excellent cafe and gym Excellent pay/bonuses The CEO seems to be a good person and actually cares about employees.

Cons

Very difficult to claim benefits, FSA, due to non standard providers and plans. Every claim ends up being a battle to get coverage paid. Odd culture many people have been there 10 - 20 years, stuck in their ways, use old technology. Unless you are in the boys club with the select few your career won't go anywhere. Don't rock the boat, keep quiet don't ask questions.

Pros

Good benefits like medical , subsidized cafeteria, underground parking in town center , mobile phone to almost all employees , work life balance as in 8-9 hours in office and none to few hours per month working on weekends. Open environment and you can share your point of view and management encourages innovation and ideas. awesome gym and building in heart of reston.

Cons

No Promotions , almost impossible as employees are stable having almost more than 4-5 yrs and 10, 15, 20, 25 yrs at verisign. there are no companies around this area so people cant change and dont move. No Promotions means boring environment sometimes as people dont have any motivational factor. Traffic is really really bad in this area and company doesnt encourage Working from Home , where most of companies in this area are changing and asking employees to work from home atleast once/twice a week . No Sick Leaves/ less Paid Leaves /no work from home option --- makes employees work life balance little hard especially when they are sick or weather is bad.

Pros

great benefit the company takes care of its people great place to retire

Cons

The company’s culture has changed a lot after all the divestitures a few years ago. Not too much growth. It has the typical culture of Northern Virginia government contractors: slow, conservative and highly bureaucratic. The senior management is dominantly white males, although there are lots of minorities as the work bees. The company does take care of its employees. Great benefit, as long as you can get used to the slow pace.
