• Some organizations have 30-day assessments. You’re reviewed by a supervisor, functional leader and EVP.
• No telecommuting/flexible work schedule. They want “face time”, definitely not a tech company.
• Big Brother monitors all your phone calls, emails, text messages, IM and badge scans - they have cameras over the building.
• V has a monopoly of .com, .net etc. and the entire world know it, its like the internet mafia
• The legal department controls all decision making for ALL internal organizations, down to the nitty gritty. It takes 6 months to get anything reviewed by legal, and it’s painful. They are paranoid, I mean super paranoid… to the point it makes you wonder why?
• Management will sell their souls to protect the golden egg (RSU & $$$).
• You will not use your skill set, so the longer you stay, the stupider you get. You become trapped because you aren’t marketable.
• The entire executive leadership team is made up of old white men. The company overall has a small number of women and minorities. It’s the good old boys club, and if you aren’t in the inner circle, you’re disposable.
• I’ve never worked somewhere were so many colleagues were on anti- anxiety medicine, and retained an employment attorney.
• They claim to be innovators, but aren’t, they focus on the cash cow…. “.com” which runs itself. Do you know why we don’t have telephone booths on street corners anymore? It’s called “innovation”. This isn’t a tech company
• They’re disorganized, constantly restructuring. I had 6 reports in 11 month and only 3 are still with the company.
• Whatever you do… don’t rock the boat. As in don’t try and improve the system or bring the latest technology/innovation to their attention. They don’t want to hear it, they like it their way and only their way. Be a good little soldier and fly in formation. Don’t step out of line or you’ll be eliminated.
• Staff who support some EVPs are allowed to scream, yell and throw objects across rooms, and yet aren’t disciplined but shockingly rewarded with a nice bonus by their direct EVP. Guess the code of conduct policy isn’t applicable to all. They tell you “if you see something, say something”……. that only gets you labeled a “trouble maker” by HR and Legal. Once you have a target on your back, its only a matter of time.
• The org I worked in is a one man’s…Judge…Jury….and Executioner…. You’ll never have an opportunity to defend yourself because you won’t see it coming.
