Pros

Cutting edge industry with opportunities to be a positive trendsetting influence in many areas. Autonomous work environment most times.

Cons

No strong processes, lots of consultants in management positions trying to lead and learn what they are doing at the same time. Leadership favoritism overlooking talent. Lack of diversity in management positions.

Pros

Good money for an inside sales role The actually people you work with are mostly nice Have met a few good people here

Cons

A lot... Culture is terrible Management has "slave driver" mentality Lots of favoritism Belittling of employees Constant micro management They love to rip into you for days and throw a "but we appreciate your work" in there to make it all magically better. Little room for advancement

Pros

Impossible to get fired, unless you make a racist or sexist remark. Free pizza once a quarter 25% off Verizon Wireless personal plan.

Cons

Verizon purchased multiple software companies between 2014 and 2019 in an attempt to join the IoT and fleet management SaaS space. As someone who watched them consistently go left, when they should have gone right, I honestly don't have enough room in this text box to warn you enough. They consistently placed "shareholder value" above long term goals of competitive advantages and financial success of the firm. Replacing incompetent VP after incompetent VP, all the while inserting an endless list of blowhards from their wireless business group, who frankly had zero clue how to sell to businesses. They change internal processes, without a single iota of real world common sense or insight from the employees actually doing the work. On top of that, they gutted their customer success and support teams during covid, whilst holding customers to contracts that were never delivered on. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN lol Seriously, this company sucks big time. Biggest lesson I've ever learned in my career. If your boss is dumb enough to be your direct report, it's probably time to look elsewhere.
