Pros

Good benefits including $8,000 towards school. 3 weeks of leave after 3 years. The PTO given is good. Verizon also matches 6% towards your 401k and gives up to a 10% bonus each year.

Cons

The Verizon 401k is no longer that great. Now, every fund is linked back to Verizon one way or another. You’re basically investing back into the company rather than more competitive funds. The 10% is the max you can earn but it's never that since Verizon Business never meets it's projected goals. According to management, the economy is playing a role and having a negative impact on our bonuses this year. Most of us believe the bonuses will be around 5%. Employees that are considered leading among other employees can earn up to 15%. However, we notice the same employees winning each year who happen to be within the good-old boy club.

Pros

It has a good reputation in the telecommunication industry. It has good benefits and lot to learn. It also has lot of opportunities in the wireless side.

Cons

Since the telecom industry is falling because of wireless and competition, there aren't a lot new opportunities for employees. Also, a lot of rifs is making the atmosphere bad.

Pros

You get to have one of the two biggest names in the rapidly shrinking cellular industry on your resume. There is significant job security as long as Vodafone doesnt sell out its share of ownership to VZ Comms, then everyone is screwed and there really won't be any good reason to work here. The benefits are really good and you get a great bonus, for now.

Cons

No career development opportunities unless you are part of "the club" click of old timers and brown nosers. If you haven't been around from the beginning then you ain't getting anywhere. Its very easy to get pigeon holed into one veryt narrow job description as well. Management is extremely arrogant. Human resources is completely incompetant.
