Pros

Pay and benefits are great. Educational assistance is also a major plus.

Cons

Constant layoffs through off shoring are having a devastating effect on employee morale with no end to layoffs seen. No matter how hard you work and improve your skills, you are never recognized for your accomplishments. In fact, management tends to look for your mistakes and not what you are doing correctly. Working environment is dismal and uninspiring. Unless your in dire need of a job, I do not recommend Verizon as a place to work.

Pros

Salaries are above average for the area and education level. Liberal vacation policies are a blessing when you need time off.

Cons

THe company, as it is now, is in a constant state of flux. Be ready to roll with the punches. If you're looking for support for training or certifications, look elsewhere.

Pros

Benefits are better than most companies. The work/life balance was very good and rarely expected to work beyond 40 hrs/week.

Cons

Ongoing RIFs has everyone on edge. Employees tend to do what they can to protect their turf and not necessarily the best solution for the company.
