Pros

Verizon compensates their employees very well. Generous vacation time, fantastic 401k match.

Cons

Constant worry about being laid off. Work life balance is talked about, but in reality the expectation is working 50+ hours. In Operations, you will be burdened with so many conference calls, you are left with little time to get actual work completed, however the expectation is you somehow complete it. That usually leads to multitasking and constant stress. Verizon also loves their google slides and presentations. It is frightening to think about how much time and money they company wastes on having us create slides for literally everything that no one pays attention to. Also, be prepared for office politics, lane grabbing, and everyone out to take credit for work to prove their worth to be saved for the annual layoffs.
