Pros

The benefits are good, great co-workers, the best global network on planet. VZ gives back to the community. The continuing education program is strong both in-house and out of house. VZ provides $8K in annual tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Incumbent (NJ) senior management taking over global network (MCI) management but doesn’t have a clue what they are doing. Ex-telephone operators are running the network. Competent Engineers are being riffed or limited in leadership. Wall Street runs the company. Profits are OK (increased div payment, bonuses, raises provided) but 30K people were laid off this year.
