Pros

Some of your peers are going to be the best people young met in life. If you tolerate mistreatment and disrespect and learn to keep your mouth shut no matter what, you can make money and move up. Customers are amazing!

Cons

During interviews and training, the lead you believe that disrespect, retaliation and violence are tolerated at work and are big believers in “you see something, you say something”, normally I had never reached out to leadership or HR for anything in my career but the disrespect by peers, and the lack of accountability from leadership was way too much to handle. I finally had enough and reached out to leadership and was ignored, went to a higher leader and kept being told that they are working on it, from there it got worse, retaliation from leadership would get worse and worse every time. Once HR was involved, I felt alone and judged not just in my location but in the territory. I was then manipulated by a Director and misled the whole time. After many times of me not feeling safe in the workplace, I put my resignation letter, HR called me asking “what can we do to change your mind, and take back the resignation letter?” I made the mistake of trusting her and agreed to take it back, followed all of the instructions provided by her and waited, during that time I turned down offers by other companies, in hope that things would finally change. During the waiting time, a Director assured me that I still had my job and that I just had to wait for them to find the best solution for me. TWO WEEKS later, I get told by same HR lady and a higher up in HR, that they have decided to accept the resignation letter and that I was no longer in the company. When I asked why, I didn’t get an answer, I tried calling HR, and anyone I could find higher up for answers of why did VERIZON, find it okay that I was LIED to and MISLED by HR and Director and no would answer me. Then finally after sending emails and leaving voicemails, I get a call from a Senior Director of HR in where she sounded annoyed that she had to call me and didn’t care to answer my questions and at one point she laughed at me. This has affected me in many ways, specially financially because I now don’t have a job and have nothing lined up. I’m still hurting and will have trouble trusting leaderships going froward.

Pros

Great customer base. Offer a great product

Cons

So middle management heavy. Has been addressed but still no consistency on what metrics matter. Way too many climbers trampling everyone on their way up are enabled at VZW
