Pros

Training, VZW will train you until you cannot see straight. They want every employee to know their product. They do truly believe in customer service and pour the resources into the system to support that. They put BILLIONS of dollars into their infrastructure to have the number one product.

Cons

Regions and areas are run like personal thiefdoms, so examine who your regional and district managers are before taking a job there. Don't hang your hat on a local store manager as they are rotated or terminated on a regular basis. Don't take on a management rol unless you are prepared to be scrutinized by everyone above and below you.

Pros

This company inspires me and excites me. I still remember getting chills when I first entered the lobby and read the large plate with the Verizon Wireless credo. This is a company built around a set of values and ideals which drive and direct every aspect of the way it does business. I'm tempted to paste the whole credo here but I won't. I'm not a sucker or a fanboy or someone who is easily impressed but I've worked for a number of "best to work for" companies and Cellco / Verizon Wireless is hands down the best company I've ever been a part of. I feel that the entire company is working for my success and development. My benefits are excellent. I've seen quick advancement and my development within the company has been better than I ever expected.

Cons

The only possible downside is that it's very performance driven which can be a little stressful for those who aren't energized by this. It's an incredibly fast moving industry and requires constant learning and adaptation to change. I wouldn't recommend the company to someone who doesn't work hard and take challenges head on and definitely wouldn't recommend the company to anyone who wants to settle into a routine and will have a hard time with change.
